As a booster, the NCAA restricts the involvement that you may have with student-athletes.
WHO IS A STUDENT-ATHLETE?
A student-athlete is a Villanova student who is currently participating in intercollegiate athletes.
WHAT IS AN EXTRA BENEFIT?
An extra benefit is any item or arrangement provided to student-athletes or the student-athlete's relative or friend, which is not available to the general Villanova University student body or the general population. If a student-athlete accepts any impermissible benefit, the student-athlete will jeopardize their eligibility for intercollegiate competition.
AS A BOOSTER YOU MAY NOT:
- Purchase an item that belongs to or is signed by a student-athlete
PERMISSIBLE BOOSTER ACTIVITIES:
- Providing an Occasional Meal
- If you are interested in providing an occasional meal to a student-athlete or a team please contact Villanova's Office of Athletics Compliance due to restrictions on providing meals. Such meals must be approved in advance.
- Speaking with student-athletes at athletic event, banquets, etc.
- Asking a student-athlete for an autograph.
- Signed items are for personal use only. Autographs that are sold or exchanged for anything of value will result in violation that will jeopardize the student-athlete's eligibility
AS A BOOSTER YOU MAY NOT GIVE OR PROVIDE A STUDENT-ATHLETE OR THEIR RELATIVES OR FRIENDS:
- Use of an automobile or transportation
- Admission to an event (e.g., movies, athletic events, banquets, clubs, special events, parties, concerts, etc.)
- Cash or loans, including co-signing, in any amount
- Gifts of any kind, including those one special occasions (e.g., Birthday, Christmas, finals week)
- Free or reduced-cost services, rentals, or purchases of any type (e.g., meals, drinks, clothing, laundry, haircuts, legal fees, tattoos, golf, car repairs, etc.)
- Free or reduced-cost housing for any length of time
- Paying bills (e.g., cell phone, gas money, rent, etc.)
- Use of your telephone or credit card

Student-athletes are not able to accept benefits that are not available to all students or to the general population. As a booster, please make sure to not provide such benefits to our student-athletes. If you would like to make a donation to the department or a particular sports program, please contact the Villanova Athletic Fund at 610.519.4142.
