2019 VILLANOVA FOOTBALL TAILGATING GUIDELINES & RULES
Villanova promotes safe and responsible tailgating, and in order to create an enjoyable and family-friendly environment, all tailgate attendees are required at all times to engage in respectful conduct and to comply with all guidelines, rules and instructions from University personnel, including but not limited to the following:
Timing:
- Tailgating may begin 4 hours prior to kickoff in the A-2 lot, and 3 hours prior to kickoff at the Tailgate on the Green.
- Tailgating must conclude no later than kickoff. Purchasers are responsible for ensuring that their guests and groups timely vacate the tailgating areas.
- Tailgating is not permitted at any time during or after the game.
Attendees and Guests:
- All Tailgate on the Green attendees must have a wristband in order to be on the Campus Green. 20 wristbands per site will be provided upon check-in for the purchaser to distribute to their invited guests.
- Purchasers are responsible for informing guests and groups of all guidelines and rules, and for ensuring all guests and groups fully comply with all guidelines and rules.
Alcohol, Food, and Music:
- Responsible alcohol consumption and compliance with all applicable laws is required at all times.
- Only attendees over the age of 21 may possess or consume alcohol.
- Hard liquor, kegs, and common source alcohol containers are not permitted.
- Games, activities and devices that promote excessive consumption of alcohol are not permitted.
- Tailgating and alcohol is not permitted at any location outside of the A-2 lot/Campus Green tailgating areas.
- Only food vendors provided by Villanova University may be on campus on game day.
- Subject to weather conditions or other circumstances, portable propane grills are permitted; charcoal grills are not.
- External sound systems may not be used. Loud or offensive music that disrupts tailgating is not permitted.
Trash and Recycling:
- Attendees must adequately dispose of trash in proper receptacles and clean-up their assigned site when tailgating concludes. Sites will be provided with trash and recycling bags, and bagged items may be left at the site for pick-up and disposal. Purchasers are responsible for all cleanup, including any required due to their guests and groups. The University in its sole discretion may dispose of any property left in the tailgating locations after the time allotted for cleanup.
Unloading and Parking:
- Tailgate on the Green purchasers may unload tailgating supplies behind Kennedy Hall before parking in the M-2 garage. We recommend bringing a cooler on wheels, or a small cart or dolly to help you move supplies. Guests of the purchaser will not be permitted to drive onto campus.
- Tailgate on the Green purchasers may park in the M-2 garage, subject to availability. Guests of the purchaser must park in the S-4 garage, subject to availability. Purchasers and guests must follow all instructions and directions from posted signs, parking attendants and University personnel.
ATTEND THE GAME!
- Tailgating is a great opportunity to create energy and excitement before kickoff. Please support our Villanova Wildcats by attending the game. Tickets may be purchased on Villanova.com or at the Stadium box office. The purchase of one game ticket is required to be eligible to purchase a tailgate spot. Please note that stadium re-entry is not permitted.
Access to and presence on University property (regardless of tickets purchased or fees paid) is permitted in the University’s sole discretion and the University may revoke such permission and access at any time in its sole discretion. All purchasers and attendees participate at their own risk and voluntarily assume the risks associated with these activities. Purchasers hereby waive and release all claims and will hold Villanova harmless from any claims that arise from their, or their guests’ or groups’, participation. Villanova is not responsible or liable for personal injury, death, damage, loss, or theft of any property.
Purchasers and attendees are subject to up to a $1,000 fine and other penalties if in violation of these guidelines and rules, or for conduct in violation of University policies or local law. Purchasers will be responsible for payment of any fines incurred by their guest(s) or group(s).
All tailgate purchasers will be required to sign the above guidelines and rules on game day.

Where can I unload my tailgating supplies?
Only purchasers of the Tailgate on the Green tailgate spaces may unload tailgating supplies at the Connelly Circle.
Connelly Circle can be accessed via the main entrance on Ithan Avenue. All other tailgate attendees will not be permitted to unload at the Connelly Circle.
Where should I park?
Purchasers of the
A-2 lot should enter the lot via Ithan Avenue. Purchasers of the Tailgate on the Green tailgate spaces may park in the
M-2 garage. No oversized vehicles will be permitted in the M-2 garage. All other tailgate attendees should park in the S-4 garage. If the S-4 lot reaches capacity, tailgate attendees may be directed to other parking locations.
How will I receive my tailgate space location?
Purchasers of the
A-2 lot will receive their parking location upon entry to the lot. Purchasers of the Tailgate on the Green will receive their tailgate location at the check-in tent located by Falvey Library.
Where is the A-2 lot and Tailgate on the Green located?
The
A-2 lot can be accessed via Ithan avenue. Tailgate on the Green is located on the
Campus Green between Alumni Hall and Corr Hall.
How will I receive my Tailgate on the Green packet?
General fans who reserve Tailgate on the Green spaces will pick up their tailgating packet, including 20 wristbands, at the check-in tent located by Falvey Library. Please note that all purchasers will be required to sign a Terms & Conditions form upon arrival on game day.
Students who reserve Tailgate on the Green spaces will pick up their tailgating packet, including 20 wristbands, on the Friday prior to the game. The student who purchases the spot will still need to check-in at the tent located by Falvey Library on game day to receive their tailgate location. Please note that all purchasers will be required to sign a Terms & Conditions form upon arrival on game day.
Will there be food or beverage available for purchase?
Three hours prior to kickoff, there will be food trucks available at the Riley Ellipse.
Ninety minutes prior to kickoff, when gates open, concessions and alcohol will be available for purchase in Villanova Stadium. There will be two points of sale for alcohol in Villanova Stadium, including one in the west end zone and one in the east end zone scoreboard turf area. New this season, purchased alcohol may be brought into the stadium seating areas and are no longer confined to a restricted area. Back for its second season is a full menu of fresh food options prepared on site by Spectra.
Can I still attend the Tailgate on the Green pregame tailgate without purchasing a tailgate space?
Yes, all fans are invited to attend the
Homecoming Festival located at the Riley Ellipse which will host yard games, student performances, music, and food and beverage for purchase. However, you may not bring alcohol or your own food into this space. In addition, the area outside of Falvey Libary will host food trucks with food and beverage for purchase.
