Villanova Men's Tennis Team Competes at Bloomsburg Invitational

BLOOMSBURG, PA. - The Villanova men's tennis team kicked off its 2003 season at the Bloomsburg Invitational. The weekend featured Villanova, Bloomsburg, Binghamton and Bucknell facing off in individual competition.

Lucas Kaster posted two wins at No. 6 singles for the Wildcats, and David Harring finished the weekend 2-1 after splitting matches at No. 7 and then winning in the fifth spot against Bucknell.

Aaron Kusza and Ricardo Baraldi each recorded wins against Bloomsburg at first and third singles, respectively. At No. 4 singles, Alex Villalobos defeated Bucknell and Carl Fenzl captured his No. 6 match against Binghamton.

In doubles action, John Toppel teamed with Kusza for a win at No. 1 doubles against Bucknell. Baraldi and Kaster also defeated Bucknell at second doubles. The No. 3 doubles tandem of Angel Rubio and Villalobos finished 2-0 on the weekend.

Villanova returns to action with a dual match at Millersville on Sept. 16 at 3 p.m.
