Villanova Men's Tennis Dealt 7-0 Setback by Maryland

COLLEGE PARK, MD. - The Villanova men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 defeat to Maryland on Saturday at College Park.

The Terps swept all six singles matches, but Villanova won the No. 1 doubles match. Aaron Kusza and Lucas Kaster teamed for a 9-8 win over Ian Bliss and Scott Peters. Kaster and Kusza evened their record to 2-2 on the season.

Villanova (4-2) resumes action on March 1 at Point Loma Nazarene in San Diego.

2. Troy Demers (UM) def. John Toppel (VU), 6-4, ret.

4. Scott Fink (UM) def. Angel Rubio (VU), 6-0, 6-1.
5. Scott Peters (UM) def. Alex Villalobos (VU), 6-2, 6-1.
6. John O'Rourke (UM) def. David Harring (VU), 6-1, 6-2.

Doubles
1. Lucas Kaster/Kusza (VU) def. Bliss/Peters (UM), 9-8.
2. Dawson/Demers (UM) def. Baraldi/Rubio (VU), 8-2.
3. Fink/Reichsfeld (UM) def. John Toppel/ Villalobos (VU), 8-2.
