Villanova Men's Tennis Shut Down By Vanguard

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. - Vanguard shut out Villanova, 9-0, at the Costa Mesa Tennis Complex on Wednesday. The Lions improved to 10-0 on the season, while Villanova fell to 4-4.

Vanguard swept the doubles matches, with Aaron Kusza and Lucas Kaster posting the closest match, in an 8-6 defeat at No. 1 doubles.

David Harring suffered a three-set loss at No. 4 singles, falling to Christoph Schramm. Vanguard won the other five matches in straight sets.

Villanova wraps up its spring break trip on Thursday at Cal Poly.

1. Hakansson/Dahlberg (Van) def. Kusza/Kaster, 8-6.
2. Weislmaier/Schramm (Van) def. Baraldi/Rubio, 8-0.
3. Holmgren/Mardh (Van) Harring/Toppel, 8-2.
