VILLANOVA FOOTBALL TAILGATE ON THE GREEN

FAMILY WEEKEND - SEPTEMBER 27, 2025

Join us for the Family Weekend Tailgate on the Green on Mendel Field prior to the Villanova vs. William & Mary football game on Saturday, September 27. A limited amount of individual tailgate tent spots will be made available for purchase via lottery. Mendel Field will be transformed into a tent village with our FREE flagship Community Tent, where all are invited to enjoy games, food and refreshments (beer and wine available for purchase by those 21 and over). Surrounding this Community Tent will be individual tents. Tent registrants are responsible for bringing their own food and drink and disposing of trash.

The cost of each 10'x15' space is $350 and includes one 10’x10’ tent, one 6-foot-long table (hosts up to 20 people), a tablecloth and a trash can.

Please note that tailgating is not permitted in other areas of campus, including parking garages and lots. All event and Tailgate on the Green tent purchases are non-refundable at the time of purchase. All events will take place rain or shine.

The lottery for students to register for Tailgate on the Green tents closed on September 5.

HOMECOMING - OCTOBER 25, 2025

Celebrate Villanova spirit at the Homecoming Tailgate on the Green prior to the Villanova vs. University at Albany on Saturday, October 25! Enjoy food trucks, games, and entertainment for all ages. Mendel Field will transform into a lively tent village, featuring individual tailgating tents and the VUAA Hospitality Tent, where you can enjoy free giveaways and refreshments. Beer and wine available for purchase by those 21 and over.

A limited number of tailgating spaces on Mendel Field are available for $350, which includes a 10’ x 10’ tent, a 6' table, and a parking pass for the M-2 Garage. Each space accommodates up to 20 guests with wristbands provided. Tailgating begins three hours before kickoff. Tent hosts are responsible for their own food, drinks, and cleanup.

Important details:

You may bring your own alcohol into this space, but kegs, hard liquor, and common source alcohol containers are prohibited.
Tailgating is only allowed on Mendel Field—no tailgating is permitted in other areas of campus, including parking lots and garages.
All tent purchases are non-refundable, and events will happen rain or shine.

TAILGATING GUIDELINES & RULES

Villanova promotes safe and responsible tailgating, and in order to create an enjoyable and family-friendly environment, all tailgate attendees are required at all times to engage in respectful conduct and to comply with all guidelines, rules and instructions from University personnel, including but not limited to the following:

Tailgating may begin 3 hours prior to kickoff at the Tailgate on the Green.
Tailgating must conclude no later than kickoff. Purchasers are responsible for ensuring that their guests and groups timely vacate the tailgating areas.
Tailgating is not permitted at any time during or after the game.
All Tailgate on the Green attendees must have a wristband in order to be on Mendel Field. 20 wristbands per site will be provided upon check-in for the purchaser to distribute to their invited guests.
Purchasers are responsible for informing guests and groups of all guidelines and rules, and for ensuring all guests and groups fully comply with all guidelines and rules, and for ensuring all guests and group fully comply with all guidelines and rules.
Responsible alcohol consumption and compliance with all applicable laws is required at all times.
Only attendees over the age of 21 may possess or consume alcohol.
Hard liquor, kegs, and common source alcohol containers are not permitted.
Games, activities and devices that promote excessive consumption of alcohol are not permitted.
Tailgating and alcohol is not permitted at any location outside of the Tailgate on the Green tailgating areas.
Only food vendors provided by Villanova University may be on campus on game day.
Subject to weather conditions or other circumstances, portable propane grills are permitted; charcoal grills are not.
External sound systems may not be used. Loud or offensive music that disrupts tailgating is not permitted.
Attendees must adequately dispose of trash in proper receptacles and clean-up their assigned site when tailgating concludes. Sites will be provided with trash and recycling bags, and bagged items may be left at the site for pick-up and disposal. Purchasers are responsible for all cleanup, including any required due to their guests and groups. The University in its sole discretion may dispose of any property left in the tailgating locations after the time allotted for cleanup.
We recommend bringing a cooler on wheels, or a small cart or dolly to help you move supplies. Guests of the purchaser will not be permitted to drive onto campus.
After unloading, Tailgate on the Green purchasers may park in the M-2 garage. Guests of the purchaser must park in the I-1 garage (parking rates apply), subject to availability. If you are arriving close to kickoff time, please expect to park in an overflow lot. Most likely this will be S-4/S-5.
Tailgating is a great opportunity to create energy and excitement before kickoff. Please support our Villanova Wildcats by attending the game! Access to and presence on University property (regardless of tickets purchased or fees paid) is permitted in the University’s sole discretion and the University may revoke such permission and access at any time in its sole discretion. All purchasers and attendees participate at their own risk and voluntarily assume the risks associated with these activities. Purchasers hereby waive and release all claims and will hold Villanova harmless from any claims that arise from their, or their guests’ or groups’, participation. Villanova is not responsible or liable for personal injury, death, damage, loss, or theft of any property.

Purchasers and attendees are subject to up to a $1,000 fine and other penalties if in violation of these guidelines and rules, or for conduct in violation of University policies or local law. Purchasers will be responsible for payment of any fines incurred by their guest(s) or group(s).

All tailgate purchasers will be required to acknowledge the above guidelines and rules upon purchase.

Purchasers of Tailgate on the Green tailgate spaces may park in the M-2 garage. No oversized vehicles will be permitted in the M-2 garage. All other tailgate attendees should park in the I-1 garage. If the I-1 garage reaches capacity, tailgate attendees may be directed to other parking locations.
Purchasers of Tailgate on the Green will receive their tailgate location at the check-in tent.
Tailgate on the Green is located on Mendel Field on Main Campus.
Day of Contacts for Tailgate on the Green will proceed to the Check-In Tent located next to Old Falvey Hall where they will receive their tent number and 20 wristbands for you and your guests. The Tailgate on the Green day of contact person must be present in order to check in. We are not able to provide your tent number prior to check-in.
Food is not available for purchase at Tailgate on the Green. Fans are encouraged to bring their own food and beverages.
Ninety minutes prior to kickoff (when gates open), concessions and alcohol will be available for purchase in Villanova Stadium. There will be two points of sale for alcohol in Villanova Stadium, including one in the west end zone and one in the east end zone scoreboard turf area. A full menu of fresh food options, including Chickie's & Pete's, prepared on site by Spectra will also be available for purchase.
All fans are welcome in the Community Area on Mendel Field, adjacent to Tailgate on the Green, where there will be refreshments, games and entertainment for all to enjoy. Fans may not bring outside alcohol or food into this space.
A special discounted group ticket package (20+) and individual single game tickets can be purchased at Villanova.com in early August.
