NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Villanova University baseball team travels to Nashville, Tennessee for a three-game series with Lipscomb at Ken Dugan Field starting Friday, February 20^th.

THIS WEEKEND

• The Wildcats and Bison begin the series on Friday, Feb. 20 at 3:00 p.m., continue on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 2:00 p.m., and conclude on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 1:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT

• Villanova dropped its opening series at Florida International University, falling in two of three contests.
• The Wildcats opened the 2026 campaign with an impressive 7-4 victory, highlighted by a go-ahead three-run home run from senior Michael Whooley on Opening Day. Transfer Will Parkinson earned the win, while senior Graham Moore secured the season's first save.
• FIU responded by taking the final two games of the series, earning a 13-3 win on Saturday before walking off with a 4-3 victory in the finale.

SWINGING INTO THE SEASON

• The Wildcats' offense showed promise in the opening weekend, scoring 13 runs on 18 hits, including three home runs.
• Michael Whooley and senior Collin Quintano each went yard, with Quintano homering in back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday.
• Villanova demonstrated strong plate discipline, drawing 21 walks over the three games and consistently working deep counts to pressure FIU's pitching staff.

RETURNING TO TENNESSEE

• Villanova owns a 2-1 record all-time against Lipscomb, with all three matchups taking place at Ken Dugan Field.
• The Wildcats claimed two of three games in Nashville last season to secure the series victory.

SWIPING BAGS EARLY

• Aggressive baserunning has been a clear emphasis to start the season.
• The Wildcats recorded nine stolen bases in the opening series, including four from freshman Jack Roventini.
• Roventini swiped three bags in Saturday's contest — the highest single-game total by either team over the weekend.

SCOUTING LIPSCOMB

• Lipscomb enters the season after finishing 25-30 overall and 17-13 in ASUN play last year.
• Graduate student Brock Puckett was named to the preseason NCBWA Stopper of the Year Watch List after posting a 2.91 ERA with 27 strikeouts last season.
• The Bison enter the series with a 2-1 record, after taking two of the three games over Dayton

HOME OPENER UPDATE

• Due to inclement weather, Villanova's home opener against Towson has been rescheduled for May 6 at 3:05 p.m.
• The Wildcats will now open their home slate against La Salle on March 10, with first pitch scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
