Tenner Signs With 49ers

Villanova senior defensive lineman Jason Tenner has signed a free agent contract with the San Francisco 49ers. A co-captain for the 1998 Villanova Wildcats, Tenner started all 11 games and tallied 60 total tackles, six tackles for loss, three quarterback sacks and eight quarterback hurries. For his efforts last season, Tenner was named to the All-Atlantic 10 second team.

As a junior in 1997, Tenner started all 13 games for Villanova and had team-highs of 13 tackles for loss and 15 sacks which ranked him second in the Atlantic 10. He was rewarded for his play in 1997 by being named first team All-Atlantic 10 and first team All-ECAC. Tenner's best game of his career came at Delaware in 1997 when he registered eight total tackles, seven tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.

A native of Cupertino, Calif, Tenner will graduate in May with a secondary education degree.
