13 Percent
Our Mission

The 13 Percent (13%) represents the black student-athletes at Villanova University. It was created to provide a safe, educational,  judgement free space for black student-athletes to speak out and be heard by their peers about the issues they face at a predominantly white institution.

We present opportunities for student-athletes to educate each other on ways to approach relevant social issues. This gives black student-athletes an opportunity to express themselves and be vulnerable while creating a bond outside the classroom and playing field.

OUR OBJECTIVES

  • Educate black student-athletes through experiences and dialogue
  • Provide a network among peers, professionals, and alumni on and off campus
  • Improve the overall experience of black student athletes
