Former Villanova women's track & Field standout Sonia O'Sullivan finished sixth in the 10,000 meter run at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney Australia. Earlier this week, O'Sullivan won the silver medal in the 5,000 meter run.
In the 10,000 meter race, O'Sullivan crossed the line in 30:53.37. Ethiopia's Derartu Tulu won the event, shattering the Olympic record in a sensational time of 30:17.49. The previous record was 31:01.63 set by Fernanda Ribeiro of Portugal at the 1996 games in Atlanta, Georgia.
