Villanova, Pa. - illanova University senior free safety Allyn Bacchus has been named to the first team District Two ESPN The Magazine Academic team. Bacchus will now go on the national ballot for Academic All-American consideration.

Bacchus has been a four-year standout for the Wildcats. He has started all 42 games of his career and enters play this week versus James Madison with 356 career tackles. The Hampton, Virginia native currently leads the 2006 Wildcats in tackles with 82 and interceptions with two.

Last season as a junior, Bacchus finished second on the team in tackles with 118 to go with three forced fumbles and five pass break-ups. For his efforts in 2005, Bacchus was named second team All-Atlantic 10 Conference.

A two-time member of the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team, Bacchus will earn an Education Degree in May of 2007.
