HAVERFORD, Pa. - On Monday at Haverford College, several members of the Villanova men's track & field team were in competition at the Haverford Quad Meet. The Wildcats had entered competitors in three track events and three field events.
In the 800 meters, freshman Mark Hogan (Clifton, Va.) was third out of 33 runners with a time of 1:58.60, while classmate Brian Tetreault (Cinnaminson, N.J.) crossed fifth in 1:58.79.
Sophomore Kevin Sives (Greentown, Pa.) won the mile in 4:20.22 to beat out 22 other athletes.
Villanova notched a one-two finish in the 3000 meters as sophomore Dan Lewis (Staten Island, N.Y.) and junior Steven Curley (Orlando, Fla.) beat out eight other runners. Lewis owned a time of 8:32.54 and Curley registered a mark of 8:51.39.
The Wildcats had the winning marks in the high jump, pole vault and shot put. Sophomore Shane Loh (Stratham, N.H.) cleared 1.85 meters to finish tops amongst six entries. Sophomore Matt Ratigan (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) led 13 athletes in the shot put with a distance of 13.54 meters. Meanwhile, sophomore Mike Salera (Sewell, N.J.) and junior Bryan Harris (Blue Anchor, N.J.) each vaulted 4.11 meters. Salera was first and Harris second in the event.
