Social Media: Twitter | Instagram | Facebook VILLANOVA, Pa.--For the first time in more than a month, No. 25 Villanova (2-3, 1-1 CAA Football) will take to the road when it travels to face Albany (2-4, 1-2 CAA Football) on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. This is the first time the Wildcats will travel to Albany and Bob Ford Field for a game, and the team is coming off a stretch of three straight home games in addition to a bye week since its last road trip.Saturday afternoon's game will be televised by the American Sports Network and will air live in the Philadelphia area on the Comcast Network, as well as on a number of additional local and regional carriers. Villanova is playing in a televised contest for the fourth time in six games this season and will still have three remaining TV dates on the 2015 schedule beyond this week. In addition to the television coverage, fans can listen to Saturday's game at Albany on 610 SPORTS (WTEL-AM) and online at Villanova.com with a Nova Nation All-Access subscription.The only previous meeting between the Wildcats and the Great Danes came at Villanova Stadium last season. Villanova tallied a 48-31 win in that contest and led by as many as 32 points (42-10) on the way to the victory. Senior wide receiver Kevin Gulyas (Allentown, Pa.) -- the Wildcats top receiver so far this season -- played a starring role in last year's game versus Albany with 106 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Also noteworthy in that contest were a game-high 11 tackles from senior linebacker Dillon Lucas (Medford, N.J.) and a pair of fumble recoveries by junior cornerback Jason Ceneus (New Rochelle, N.Y.).Gulyas has team highs of 17 receptions, 321 all-purpose yards and two receiving touchdowns on the year. He will be a key target for redshirt freshman quarterback Zach Bednarczyk (Wallington, N.J.), who makes his third career start this week. Bednarczyk is 35-of-68 (51.5 percent) through the air this season and has thrown for 406 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions. He led a pair of late touchdown drives against Delaware last month in his first career action under center. Another offensive player to watch for the Wildcats is junior running back Javon White (Telford, Pa.), who leads the team with 271 rushing yards and scored his first career touchdown last Saturday.Villanova is coming off a 38-16 loss to William & Mary last week. After the teams traded a pair of early scores, the visiting Tribe scored 35 unanswered points from the second quarter through early in the fourth stanza to put the game out of reach. Third down efficiency wound up being the key to the game, as the Wildcats were 1-of-12 and William & Mary 8-of-16 on third down. Junior defensive lineman Tanoh Kpassagnon (Ambler, Pa.) had a strong game for the Villanova defense with a career-high three tackles for loss, in addition to his first career fumble recovery.Albany enters this week's contest with a 2-4 overall record and a 1-2 league mark after a 39-7 loss to Maine last week. In their Homecoming weekend game, the Great Danes were limited to 172 yards of total offense and a net of five rushing yards by the visiting Black Bears. Maine surged to a 20-0 first quarter lead and never looked back in the game. Albany quarterback DJ Crook has thrown for 984 yards and seven touchdowns on the season, while Elliot Croskey leads the running game with 399 yards and three scores.With most of the teams in CAA Football reaching the midpoint of conference play this season, another typically competitive battle is shaping up in the conference standings. Villanova is one of five nationally-ranked conference teams this week, and just one game separates the teams in third through 11th places in the league standings.Following the Albany game, the Wildcats will be on the road again next week when they visit Towson.
