RICHMOND, VA. -Two Villanova Wildcats were honored by the CAA for their play in Saturday's 37-0 win at Albany. Senior safety Cameron McCurry (Orange Park, Fla.) earned conference defensive player of the week honors, while redshirt freshman quarterback Zach Bednarczyk (Wallington, N.J.) garnered rookie of the week accolades.

McCurry helped Villanova post the shutout with five total tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble. The forced fumble came at the four-yard line with Albany on the verge of scoring a first half touchdown. McCurry currently ranks third on the team in tackles with 38 to go with a team-high four pass break-ups and a team-best tying two interceptions.

Bednarczyk turned in a perfect passing performance in the win by completing 12-of-12 for 152 yards and two touchdowns. This establishes a school record for highest passing percentage in a game. The previous mark of 94.1 percent (16-of-17) was set by John Robertson against Towson during the 2013 season. Bednarczyk also added eight carries for 22 yards in his first career win as Villanova's starting quarterback.

The Wildcats return to action on Saturday, Oct. 24, when Villanova travels to Towson. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Johnny Unitas Stadium.
