Opening statement: It was a very good and tough game. We knew it would be a very physical game. I was happy with the way [we] came out; [our kids] played hard. We have some young kids playing, especially our quarterback. He did some really nice things but obviously the two pick-sixes were the killer. I really felt those changed the momentum of the game. We still had a chance after the first one. We played really hard and I am obviously happy about that. We had our first tailback knocked out early in the game and I thought our second and third kids did a really good job for us.

Towson is just like us, teeter-tottering in this league, fighting hard and trying to stay alive and well. Their quarterback did a good job, had a big run for a touchdown. I thought we did a good job on [Towson running back] Darius Victor. He is a terrific back and I have a lot of respect for him. I think [Towson head coach] Rob [Ambrose] can take his team and keep going. They are going to beat some people in our league. The CAA is a war every week and you cannot give anyone 14 points and expect you are going to be good enough to win, not with a redshirt freshman quarterback. So we will continue to work hard and move on to Maine next week.

On Villanova's time of possession (36 minutes): We did what we had to do to keep the ball away from Darius [Victor]; that was our plan. I just didn't know we would be able to run the ball as well as we did. That was part of the game plan. We were in the red zone a couple of times and we came up short. We had a chance to make a field goal there [in the second quarter] and we did not get it done. So the thought process behind how we wanted to logistically play the game was good, unfortunately our execution did not help us out. Thirty-six minutes of time in the game should be enough to come out with a touchdown win and that was what we were hoping for.

On trying to convert on fourth down before the second interception: We are not a great field goal team right now. We have a freshman kicking field goals for us and, right now, I feel more confident using the sheet that we keep. On fourth and less than five or six depending on where we are on the field, we are going to go for it. We are playing all out to win right now. I do not have a lot of big play kids at this point. Once we get the quarterback right, we will be on par. The running game improved tonight against a stellar defense. Towson is the best team in the league statistically against the run and I thought we did a good job running the ball. We did a good job moving the ball. Total offense we had 421 yards and held them to 292. Statistically we should have won the game. We cannot give them two turnovers for touchdowns.

On the development of Zach Bednarczyk: He came in with five minutes left in the game against Delaware and won a game for us. He did a great job and we are very optimistic. We needed to get him reps. He can run and throw. I jumped on him in the fourth quarter because he seemed timid running the ball and he has to be a running back in our offense; he has to want to run the football. He is getting a lot of seasoning right now and he is going to be one of the better quarterbacks in this league. He has played with a bad shoulder and he knows how to play with pain. I think he is going to be really good. We are happy with him.
