RICHMOND, VA. - Villanova University senior safety Cameron McCurry (Orange Park, Fla.) has been named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week. McCurry earns the honor for his play in Saturday's 21-20 upset win over No. 9 Richmond.

In the victory, McCurry registered eight total tackles (seven solo), one sack, one tackle for loss, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. The forced fumble came on the opening kickoff of the second half, leading to a Wildcat touchdown on the next play.

McCurry currently ranks third on the team in tackles with 59 to go with a team-high three interceptions. He also has posted six tackles for loss, six pass break-ups, two sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Villanova returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 21, when the Wildcats travel to Harrisonburg, Va., to take on the James Madison Dukes in the regular season finale. Kickoff is set for noon.
