RICHMOND, VA. - Villanova University sophomore quarterback Zach Bednarczyk (Wallington, N.J.) has been named the CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his play in Saturday's 42-7 victory at Elon. He shares the honor with James Madison quarterback Bryan Schor.

In the win at Elon, Bednarczyk completed 14-of-21 for 270 yards and a career-high tying three touchdowns. He also added 13 carries for 59 yards and a score for 329 yards of total offense. Bednarczyk led the Villanova offense to five scoring drives on five first half possessions.

After five games in 2016, Bednarczyk has completed 69-of-117 for 810 yards to go with six touchdowns and three interceptions. He also ranks third on the team in rushing with 212 yards and 53 carries and one touchdown.

Bednarczyk and the Wildcats return to action on Saturday, Oct. 8, when they play host to the Rhode Island Rams. Kickoff at Villanova Stadium is set for noon.
