College Park, Md. – After a hard fought game, Villanova fell to UMBC 3-0.

Paige Rauch got the start on the mound and pitched all seven innings allowing just three runs with one earned run, giving up just two walks and striking out six batters.

UMBC struck first in the third inning with a two run double and added an insurance run in the fifth and that would be all of the scoring in the game.

The Wildcats will have their home opener on Tuesday against Fairfield at 3:00 P.M. The game will be broadcasted on Nova Nation All Access and live stats will be provided. After the Fairfield matchup, Villanova will be back in action Wednesday against Saint Joseph's at 3:00 P.M.
