Washington, D.C. – The Villanova Wildcats complete the three-game sweep against the Georgetown Hoyas with an 8-0 win in five innings.
Angela Giampolo singled to start the game and the Wildcats wasted no time getting on the board.
Paige Rauch was up next and hit her 13th home run of the season to deep left center.
The offense would explode for six more runs in the second inning.
Caroline Jones came up with the bases loaded and one out and delivered a huge home run to deep left field that would but Villanova up 6-0. After an out, the Wildcats put together some two-out lightning.
Lauren Hanna singled up the middle.
Olivia LaQua would pinch run for her and would score on
Kendall Ohman's RBI triple.
Becky Ducar would then cap the inning off with an RBI double off of the center field wall.
Rauch got the start on the mound and went five innings allowing just three hits, no runs, one walk, and struck out six Hoyas. She picked up her 11th win and lowered her ERA to 2.58.
The next time Villanova will be in action is against Delaware at home on April 24th, with first pitch scheduled for 3:00 PM.
