KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Villanova took to ESPN Wide World of Sports one last time on Feb. 23 for a game against Troy. Having gone 2-2 overall on the previous two day, the Wildcats were looking to close out the Citrus Classic in winning fashion. However, the Trojans had other plans.

In an error-plagued contest, Villanova fell to Troy, 5-1.

With two outs in the second inning, the Trojans got on base by way of an error. After stealing second, Troy knocked a home run to record the first runs of the game. On the next at bat they lined out.

Later in the fifth the Trojans got two on base before recording a three-run home run. 

In the bottom of the inning, Villanova got on the board thanks to Caroline Jones. The senior recorded her fifth home run of the weekend and the season to get the Wildcats their first run. 

However, that was all the offense Villanova could muster. The Wildcats finish the weekend 2-3 and 8-7 overall. 

Jones starred on the weekend, hitting .400 with six hits and six runs in addition to her five homers. She added eight RBI and 22 total bases with a 1.467 slugging percentage. Defensively, Julia DaCosta recorded 26 putouts with no errors, while Ally Jones had the same amount of putouts with one error.

The Wildcats next tae a trip to Arkansas for the Woo Pig Classic, where they will take on No. 23 Arkansas, Baylor, Kent State and No. 9 Florida State.
