Villanova Athletics Announces Hire of Brian Beacham as Senior Associate Athletic Director and Chief Athletics Operating Officer

VILLANOVA, Pa.—Villanova University Vice President and Director of Athletics Mark Jackson announced today the hire of Brian Beacham as Senior Associate Athletic Director and Chief Athletics Operating Officer. Beacham has been at Villanova since 2016 and had most recently served as the Executive Director for Athletic Development since 2019.

In his new role Beacham will have oversight of the Villanova Athletics fiscal resources, including the development and monitoring of the department's annual operating and capital budgets. He also manages contract negotiations and assists in developing strategic initiatives to maximize revenue opportunities for Villanova Athletics as a whole.

Beacham directly oversees the Villanova Athletics areas of external operations, ticket operations, facilities and operations, travel, equipment and NIL strategies. He acts as a liaison between Villanova Athletics, Villanova Sports Properties and Legends in addition to managing Villanova's partnership with Nike as part of responsibilities. Beacham is the primary sport administrator for men's lacrosse, men's soccer and golf. He is the secondary sport administrator for men's basketball.

"I am incredibly excited to see Brian shift into this role as the Chief Operating Officer of Villanova Athletics," Jackson said. "For the past several years Brian has achieved record-breaking success in leading the Villanova Athletics fundraising efforts and, during that time, he has built meaningful relationships with our student-athletes, coaches and staff. He understands our culture and will be able to hit the ground running with his new responsibilities."

Beacham originally came to Villanova as the Assistant Director for Athletics Development in 2016. He was promoted to Associate Director in 2018 and earned a promotion in 2019 to Executive Director for Athletic Development. In the latter role he led all areas of the Villanova Athletic Fund. Beacham previously spent seven years at Cabrini where he served as sports information director and was promoted to an associate athletics director role. He assisted with athletic fundraising and was the sport administrator for golf and tennis.

"I would like to thank University President Rev. Peter M. Donohue along with Vice President and Director of Athletics Mark Jackson for this incredible opportunity to continue to grow professionally at such a special place that my family and I are so proud to be a part of," Beacham said. "I would also like to thank Vice President Kevin Noller and University Advancement for their support throughout my seven-plus years in the department."

Beacham earned his Bachelor's degree in 2006 and a Master's degree in 2010 in Sport and Recreation Management from Temple. He served as a graduate extern in Temple's media relations department and an athletic communications intern at Syracuse. At Temple, he served four years as a men's basketball manager under head coach John Chaney.
