ELKTON, Md. – In the second match of the team's opening weekend, the Villanova Men's Tennis program fell to Delaware, 4-0, on Sunday (Jan. 26) at Elkton Indoor Tennis.
 
In doubles, Cooper Gordon and Kush Anand fell to Tobey Lock and Euan McKenzie, 6-0. Will Monahan and Quincy Jones were defeated by Alexandre Gluck and Ram Mude, securing the doubles point for the Blue Hens. Trey Fourticq and Thomas Wakefield's match against Karol Malirz and Mason Robins went unfinished with Fourticq and Wakefield trailing, 5-2.
 
In the singles draw, Malirz defeated Gordon at the top of the card, 6-3, 6-3. Lock bested Monahan, 6-4, 6-1, and Gluck defeated Wakefield, 6-3, 6-1, sealing the 4-0 victory for Delaware. Fourticq and Anand were trailing in matches that went unfinished, while Cameron Kruep participated in a match that was called with no score.
 
Up next, the Wildcats will head to Lehigh's campus in Bethlehem, Pa., to take on BYU on Friday, Feb. 7. The match is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. ET.
