VILLANOVA, Pa.—The signing class for the Villanova Football Class of 2029 continued to take shape on National Signing Day as head coach
Mark Ferrante announced the addition of three scholastic players to the Class of 2029 on Wednesday morning. The trio includes linebacker
Walker Murray (PA – Pennsbury HS); defensive back
Samir Wilkins (NJ – Malcolm X Shabazz HS); and running back
Tyler Womack (MD – Annapolis HS). These three players join 10 who were announced December and bring the Wildcats recruiting class for the coming season to 13 players thus far.
Ferrante and the Wildcats coaching staff have continually attracted top talent from around the country. The 13 signees for the 2025 season represent five states on the Eastern seaboard, with all three of the players announced on Wednesday coming from different states – New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland. These scholastic players will be joining a Villanova program that has made four playoff appearances in the last six years and is one of six FCS teams to have won 10 or more games in at least three of the last four seasons. In total, the 13 signees include eight from Pennsylvania and New Jersey who give the class a local feel. Villanova is also bringing in two players from Maryland and Massachusetts, and one rom Connecticut.
The three players announced on Wednesday include Murray and Wilkins on the defensive side of the ball.
Murray (LB, 6-2, 220) earned second team all-state honors and first team all-area accolades at Pennsbury High School where his stats included 125 tackles and 25 tackles for loss, including four sacks.
Wilkins (DB, 5-11, 160) garnered all-county honors for a team which was a sectional champion. He had 23 passes defended, including two interceptions. The additions of Murray and Wilkins give the Wildcats five signees on the defensive side of the ball.
Womack (RB, 5-10, 190) is the seventh offensive player that Villanova has signed in the 2029 recruiting class. He was an all-state and all-Metro selection at Annapolis High School where his offensive stats included 31 touchdowns to go along with four more scores on kickoff returns.
Each of the 13 players who have been announced thus far in the Class of 2029 will enroll at Villanova for the Fall 2025 semester. They will become part of a Wildcats team which has compiled a .706 winning percentage (36-15) over the last four seasons. Villanova ranks 12
th among FCS programs in winning percentage in that span of time and owns the second-longest active home winning streak (16 games) in the FCS. The Wildcats are also the only current CAA Football member to have won at least 70 games in the last 10 seasons (2015-24). In this stretch, Villanova has an overall record of 72-42 (.632), has made five playoff appearances and has a record of 47-29 (.618) in regular season conference games.
