Villanova Ranks Near Top of Sears Directors Cup Standings

Villanova, Pa.--- Villanova University is currently tied for 11th place in the Sears Directors' Cup Standings with 100 points. The standings are based upon the completion of the men and women's cross country, field hockey, men and women's soccer and men's water polo seasons. Points are awarded based on each school's finished in up to 20 sports -- 10 sports for men and 10 for women. Institutions receive 100 points for winning the national championship.

The Stanford Cardinal is in first place in the Sears Directors' Cup Standings with 280 points, followed by Arkansas with 130 and Indiana, Santa Clara and USC with 120 points. Brigham Young, Connecticut, Florida, North Carolina and Virginia are tied with 110 points and Maryland, Michigan and Old Dominion are each tied
