Villanova Athletics and Nike are proud to present the Villanova P.A.W.S program: Providing Athletes With Support. The P.A.W.S. program helps to ensure the best quality experience for Villanova student-athletes, both in the classroom and on the playing fields. Wildcat student-athletes represent the best in athletic and academic achievements, and Nike is proud to recognize these student leaders.
This week's P.A.W.S. honors go to Wildcat senior Brian Westbrook, a Villanova football standout and an first year MBA student from Ft. Washington, Md., and DeMatha High School. On Monday, Sept. 3, Brian was named both the Atlantic 10 Conference Offensive Player of the Week and Atlantic 10 Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts in a 38-14 season opening win versus Colgate. Against the Raiders on Aug. 31, Westbrook tallied 337 yards of all-purpose offense including 146 yards on 13 carries, 75 yards on eight receptions and two kickoff returns for 116 yards including an 98 yard return for a touchdown. With the 98 yard return, he tied an NCAA I-AA record for career touchdowns on kickoff returns with five. In addition, Westbrook scored five touchdowns in the win establishing a new career-high. We congratulate Brian on his achievements, and proudly support the Villanova P.A.W.S. program.
