One of the top female swimmers in school history, Lisa Flood competed in both the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games. In 1992, Flood raced in the 100 meter breaststroke and placed 14th overall. She posted a time of 1:10.95 in the preliminary heat, and then swam 1:11.15 in the consolation final. Four years later, she took first in the Olympic trials in the same event, and placed 10th at the Atlanta games.

Flood graduated from Villanova in 1995 with her degree in Psychology after enjoying a stellar career on the Main Line. She was a 10-time All-American and in 1992 became the school's first female swimmer to bring home a national championship when she won an NCAA championship in the 100 breaststroke. She also earned 13 BIG EAST titles, including the 100 breaststroke championship four straight years. Flood was the 1992 BIG EAST Outstanding Female Swimmer as a freshman. She was also the Villanova Female Athlete of the Year after her freshman campaign, as well as the Senior Athlete of the Year in 1995. Flood received the prestigious NCAA Top 8 Award for academic and athletic achievements as a senior, and was also an NCAA Post Graduate Scholarship winner. She was a 1997 inductee to the Villanova Wall of Fame, and still holds school records in the 100 breaststroke and 200 and 400 medley relays. She also holds a Villanova pool record in the 200 breaststroke. Flood bust onto the world swimming scene in 1991 when she won bronze medals in the 100 and 200 breaststroke at the Pan American Games. She captured two gold medals at the 1995 Pan American Games, and also was a medal winner at the 1994 Commonwealth Games. Flood is a member of the Ontario Aquatic Hall of Fame.
