Maddy Siegrist has quickly become a household name when it comes to Villanova Basketball. The senior forward's resume is one full of awards and record-setting stats that have cemented her as one of the top players to don a Wildcat uniform. The Poughkeepsie, N.Y. native is the all-time leading scorer in Villanova Basketball history with 2,896 points, making her one of the women's program's three 2,000 point scorers. She was the fastest Wildcat to cross the 1,000 point threshold, reaching that feat in just 50 games. Her 37 consecutive games with 20+ points scored during the 2022-23 season marked the longest by any Division I women's or men's player this century. Aside from being a powerful scorer, Siegrist also sits second in program history for career rebounds. Away from the Main Line, the program's first-ever first-team All-American has gained both BIG EAST, regional and national notoriety. Siegrist was named the 2022 Philadelphia Sports Writers Association Amateur Athlete of the Year. Not only is she the all-time leading scorer in Philadelphia Big Five women's history, she is also the top scorer in the history of Philadelphia women's Division I college basketball. She has etched her name into the BIG EAST record books as the all-time leading scorer in regular season conference games with 1,639 points, most points in a game (50), the most made field goals (20) and has the record for career Player of the Week accolades (17). After being one of five finalists for the Katrina McClain Award in 2021, she won the honor in 2023 while also being a finalist for the Wade Trophy, Naismith Award and is on the Wooden Award watch list. This season, she was the nation's leading scorer, averaging 29.2 points per game.

She scored 50 points on 20-of-26 shooting to set the program's 37-year single-game scoring record and became the second Wildcat to go over the 1,000 rebound threshold with 10 boards on the day. Three other records were set with her dominant performance including becoming the all-time leading scorer in BIG EAST history for regular season conference games, setting new BIG EAST single-game marks for both scoring and most made field goals.

She’s a gym rat -- she loves the game, she loves talking about the game, even about pro games, certain players. I have always said, players who want to try what they view in other games -- that takes players to another level.

Siegrist For the Nova Record

With 6:35 left in the fourth quarter at Creighton on Jan. 20, 2023, Maddy Siegrist connected on a turnaround jumper to become the all-time leading scorer in Villanova basketball history for both the men and the women. She broke a 36-year old record that was held by Shelly Pennefather who played at Villanova from 1983-87. Siegrist entered the game needing just 18 points to break the record and ended up scoring 23 points.

Super Siegrist
Maddy was as advertised if not better. I've had the honor of coaching against a lot of great players and I don't like to say the best, but she's on the list. It's incredible the way she moves and the things they run. She is also a lot better defensive player than she looked on video. I loved her game and everything about it.
Bill Fennelly, Iowa State Women's Basketball Head Coach
She’s really, really hard to play against. I love the way she plays. I love her toughness, I love her aggressiveness.
