Villanova Stadium

Villanova Stadium was built in 1927 and serves as home to Villanova football, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's track & field and intramurals.

The playing field at Villanova Stadium was named in 1930 for Leo Goodreau, a Villanova football player who died while competing in practice. The track was dedicated to legendary VU track & field coach James "Jumbo" Elliott in 1980. Therefore, the 'Cats play football and lacrosse on Goodreau Field, while the track team runs on the Elliott Track, all within Villanova Stadium.

Villanova Stadium has hosted BIG EAST Outdoor Track & Field Championships over 25 times, BIG EAST Women's Lacrosse Championships in 2017 and the NCAA Final Four in 2013 and the BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Championships six times.

In 1999, the stadium underwent a face-lift to add a press box, which now includes golf and rowing locker rooms on the first and second floors. The stadium seats 12,500 spectators and features an AstroTurf playing surface lined for football, men's lacrosse and women's lacrosse.
