Career: Finishes a third year competing in almost every event for the Wildcats...Finished his junior season with records of 7-12 in singles matches and 4-8 in doubles action...Was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2021-22...Two-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team and Four-time Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.Â
2023-24: Finished the season with a 7-12 singles record... Mainly occupied the sixth singles spot ending the year with a 3-5 mark... Went 4-8 in doubles play... Paired most in doubles with freshman Will Monahan in the second spot where they played to a 2-6 record... Part of a rotational trio with Ryan Nguyen and Justin Frattarelli that was unbeaten in the Wildcat Draw at the Villanova Invitational with a 2-0 record.
2022-23: Put forth a 6-3 singles record with four wins in tournament play and a 2-2 mark as the sixth singles participant for the Wildcats … Had four different doubles partners throughout his sophomore year, totaling a 7-12 overall record in those matches … Appeared most often with senior Justin Suarez, as the team went 4-9 with seven bouts as Villanova’s first doubles pairing... Named to BIG EAST All-Academic Team... Earned Athletic Director's Honor Roll both semesters.
2021-22: Competed exclusively during the Fall season as a freshman and appeared in the first two tournaments of the year … Tallied records of 0-5 in singles matches and 1-4 in doubles action … Teamed with fellow freshman Trey Fourticq at the Villanova Invitational and the pair tallied a seventh place finish out of 16 teams in the Blue draw … They opened competition with a 6-3 win over opponents from Loyola (Md.) in the opening round and advanced in the winners bracket with a 2-1 victory in that first round … Played in the Flight 3 singles bracket at the Saint Joseph’s Invitational and teamed with Noah Winton in the Flight 2 doubles bracket at the local tournament.

Ramapo High School: Played varsity tennis as a sophomore and a senior and competed in the No. 1 singles position both seasons … Compiled a 32-4 record during his scholastic career, including county and state competitions … As a senior earned second team all-state honors while garnering first team all-county and first team All-Group 2 accolades … Tallied a fifth place state finish his senior year … As a sophomore was nominated for
northjersey.com Player of the Year honors … Was ranked as high as #104 nationally and third in the state of New Jersey by

Personal: Born 2/20/02 in Franklin Lakes, N.J. … Younger of two children of Woojin and Nancy Choi … Has an older sister, Abby (22), who was a collegiate swimmer at the University of Chicago and competed in the sprint freestyle events … Enjoys playing golf, fishing and watching TV in his spare time … Chose to attend Villanova because of his strong connection to the current student-athletes on the team, the reputation of Villanova’s athletics program and the school’s proximity to home … Comprehensive Science major on a Pre-Med track.
