Mauro Medina is in his sixth year at Villanova in 2019-20 and is a volunteer assistant coach who works with the horizontal jumps group.
 
During the 2018-19 season, Medina helped Gloria Donou earn All-BIG EAST honors for the first time in her career.  Donou placed third in the triple jump at the outdoor BIG EAST Championships and also scored in the long jump with a fourth place finish.  She contributed a total of 11 team points towards the Wildcats winning the team title at the conference meet and finishing off their second straight BIG EAST “triple crown” with championships in cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field. 
 
Medina has guided both Donou and fellow rising senior Katie Ciccarone to success over the course of their careers.  Donou is an eight-time BIG EAST scorer overall, including five times in the triple jump and three times in the long jump.  She begins the 2019-20 campaign ranked seventh in school history in the triple jump and 10^th in the long jump.  Ciccarone competed at the 2019 indoor BIG EAST Championships in the triple jump.  She is a three-time BIG EAST scorer during her career and has placed as high as sixth in the triple jump at the conference level.
