Competed in the 400 meters and the 4x400 meter relay during the abbreviated 2021 indoor season … Member of the Wildcats sprint group whose top individual event was the 400 meters … Came to Villanova after being a scholastic All-American in the 4x400 meter relay in addition to being a county and state sectional champion in the 400 meters during his high school career.

2021: Made his collegiate debut in the dual meet against Army West Point; Army West Point (2/6): Tallied a first place finish in the 400 meters and ran the third leg of the 4x400 meter relay in his collegiate debut ... Posted a winning time of 50.53 in the 400 meters and a split of 49.07 on the third leg of the 4x400 relay ... Helped the Wildcats finish second in the relay in 3:20.98.

Jackson Memorial High School: Earned a total of 10 varsity letters during his scholastic career, including four in outdoor track & field and three each in indoor track & field and football … Also was a member of the freshman basketball team … As a senior during the 2020 indoor season was the state sectional champion and the Ocean County champion in the 400 meters … Earned all-county honors in the event … He and current Wildcats teammate Nicholas Mollica formed part of a 4x400 meter relay team which posted the sixth-fastest time in the country (3:20.98) during the 2020 indoor season … The squad earned All-America honors and won a Millrose Games title along with earning all-state, all-county and all-conference accolades … As a junior outdoors in 2019 was the Ocean County champion in the 400 meters … Holds eight school records in track & field, including the individual indoor records in the 200 meters (22.60), the 400 meters (49.88) and the 600 meters (1:23.94) … Part of relay records indoors in the 4x200 meter relay (1:31.07) and 4x400 meter relay (3:20.98) as well as outdoors in the 4x100 relay (43.35), the 1000 meter medley (1:59.88) and the 800 meter medley (1:33.98) … As a football player was named all-division and all-conference in addition to being the MVP in the first round of the NJSIAA playoffs … His football stats included 20 receptions for 406 yards and seven touchdowns to go along with three rushes for 65 yards and a score … Achieved High Honor Roll status academically all four years … Three-year member of the National Honor Society, the Mathematics National Honor Society and the Social Studies National Honor Society … Two-year member of the Science National Honor Society and was inducted to the Italian National Honor Society his senior year … High school teammate of Wildcats classmate Nicholas Mollica.
 
Personal: Born 2/8/02 in Trenton, N.J. … Older of two sons of Lawrence and Michele Novak … Has a younger brother, Lucas … Hobbies include lifting weights, playing wiffle ball, flag football and pickup basketball, swimming, exploring and playing video games … Chose to attend Villanova for its picturesque campus, alumni networking and impressive athletic and academic reputations … Noted his comfort with the coaching staff during the recruiting process which made him feel that he belonged at Villanova and that the program was making an investment in him … Plans to major in Comprehensive Sciences.
