Heather Vulin enters her 7th year on the Wildcat staff where she will serve as the program[apos]s recruiting coordinator, in addition to assisting with on court coaching duties. She arrived at Villanova from Sacred Heart University where she was as an assistant from 2002-2008, including serving as recruiting coordinator from 2004-08. During her stint at Sacred Heart, she was instrumental in helping the Pioneers to an impressive 124-55 overall record and an 85-23 mark in Northeast Conference play.
From a recruiting standpoint at Sacred Heart, she recruited and signed Alisa Apo who was the 2008 NEC Rookie of the Year and the 2009 NEC Player of the Year and All-NEC selection 2009,2010, Kaitlin Sowinski who was named first team All-NEC in both 2008 and 2009, and Callan Taylor who was a three time All-NEC selection 2010-2012 and capped off her career as 2012 NEC Player of the Year and left Sacred Heart as the program[apos]s all-time leading rebounder. In 2009, Vulin[apos]s recruits helped Sacred Heart become only the third team in NEC history to go undefeated in league play. During her stay at Villanova, the program has made post-season play every year since Vulin[apos]s recruiting classes have stepped on the court for the Wildcats.
Before Sacred Heart, Vulin was a graduate assistant coach at North Dakota State University from 2000 02 and worked for Women[apos]s Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee, Amy Ruley. In her two year stay there, North Dakota State tallied a 43-18 record.
Vulin was a two-sport athlete at the University of Minnesota-Morris where she was a four-year letterwinner in basketball and volleyball. She served as a team captain in basketball and garnered Academic All-Conference accolades in both basketball and volleyball.
She graduated from Minnesota-Morris in 1999 with a bachelor degree in secondary education-social sciences, psychology and women[apos]s studies. She earned a master[apos]s degree in education from North Dakota State.
Vulin and her husband, Kevin, reside in Havertown, Pa with their three-year old son Jack and their newborn daughter, Ava.
