Mary Mosier

Mary Mosier joined the Villanova Rowing staff ahead of the 2021-22 season, bringing both coaching and collegiate rowing experience with her. She also leads the recruiting efforts for the program.
 
In her first two years with the program, the Wildcats have turned in a pair of top-five finishes at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships, going fifth and fourth in 2022 and 2023, respectively. The 2021-22 season saw the Varsity Eight win CAA Boat of the Week twice, the first such honor in the history of the program. Three Wildcats have earned All-CAA status since she joined the coaching staff, including two at the 2023 championship.
 
Mosier began coaching at the Shipley School in 2019 and during her time there helped the Girls’ Novice Double boat win a Philadelphia city championship in 2021. She also coached at Penn A.C. and was an assistant coach for the Under 23 Team. At the USRowing Summer National Championships earlier in 2021, the Under 23 team medaled in five boat classes, including a gold medal in the Men’s Quad. Mosier also helped the Women’s U23 Double finish first at the National Team Trials and go on to represent the United States at the 2021 FISA Under 23 World Championship. She coached that team again in the summer of 2022 with the Women’s U23 Quad winning gold at the 2022 Summer National Championship.
 
During her racing career Mosier experienced success first as a Division I varsity student-athlete at Jacksonville from 2009-13 and later as a member of the High Performance Team at Penn A.C. She won a title in the Elite Lightweight 1x competition in 2017 at the US Rowing National Championship and was part of three other top-three finishes at the US Rowing championships, including second in both the Senior Lightweight 2x (2015) and the Elite Lightweight 2x (2018) as well as third in the Elite Lightweight 1x in 2018. Mosier finished second in the Lightweight 4+ at the Head of the Charles in 2018.
 
Mosier earned her B.S. in Exercise Science with minors in History and Coaching from Jacksonville University.
