Anna Gevirtz

Anna Gevirtz is in her third year on the Villanova coaching staff in 2024-25. She is an assistant coach on the women’s staff working primarily with the team’s distance runners and supporting all areas of the program, including the Wildcats worldwide recruiting efforts.

Villanova has achieved success in all three seasons spanning cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field during Gevirtz’ first two years on the staff. The women’s team combined for 57 All-BIG EAST honors in 2022-23 and 2023-24 while claiming 16 event titles at the conference championships. Gevirtz has helped to mentor a relatively young roster over the last two years and Villanova moved up in the team standings in all three seasons from 2022-23 to 2023-24. The indoor and outdoor track & field squads each surged to runner-up team finishes in 2024, with the Wildcats leading all conference teams by winning seven gold medals at the 2024 outdoor BIG EAST meet.

The distance group has made steady progress in the BIG EAST and national ranks, most recently with the emergence of Sadie Sigfstead on the national scene. Sigfstead has garnered All-America honors both outdoor and in cross country while winning BIG EAST titles in the 10000 meters outdoors and the 5000 meters indoors.

During her own collegiate career, Gevirtz was a member of the track & field and cross country teams at Bucknell. She competed at every distance on the track from 800 meters up through 10,000 meters while scoring at the Patriot League Championships and being a six-time member Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
