Jess Smith serves as the academic support and UNITAS intern for the 2025-26 academic year.
Prior to VU, Smith spent her senior year as an athletics communication intern at her alma mater Bryn Mawr College. In addition, she worked as a fitness center associate and community diversity assistant on campus while also participating in the NCAA career in sports forum and the student immersion program.
Outside of her collegiate involvement, Jess organized basketball clinics with the WNBA's Dallas Wings as well as a role coaching youth sports in California.
Smith graduated in May of 2025 with a degree in sociology and minors in history and Africana studies from Bryn Mawr, where she also served as a women's basketball team captain, head of DEI for the school's SAAC and the co-president of the Bryn Mawr Athletic Alliance.
