Villanova, Pa.--- On Tuesday, Sept. 28, in men's tennis action, Villanova University shutout La Salle University, 7-0, in a match played at the Villanova Tennis Courts. In fact, the Wildcats held the Explorers without a set victory in singles play. With the victory, the 'Cats remained undefeated at 3-0 on the season.

In No. 1 singles competition, senior Robert Waibel won by an easy 6-2, 6-1 margin. Winning in singles action as well for Villanova were Josh Schofield in the No. 2 position, Casey Simmons at No. 3, Ryan Devine at No. 4, Mike Alexander at No. 5 and Ramon Prats at No. 6.

In doubles play, the Wildcats again swept La Salle. Waibel and Prats combined to lead Villanova to an 8-3 victory over R. Garguillo and P. Telow of the Explorers. Michael Mock and A.J. Rohde teamed up to tally a win in No. 2 doubles for the 'Cats, while Chris Gonzalez and Justin Goulet recorded a victory at the No. 3 spot.
