Scranton, Pa. - On October 6-7, the Villanova Wildcat golf team traveled to Scranton, Pennsylvania to participate in the 2000 Temple Golf Invitational held at Glenmaura National Golf Club. Villanova finished the two-day invitational with a 627. The score was good enough to place them ninth. Senior Chris Ellis (Boulder, Colo./Fairview) paced the Wildcats with a two-day 150. Ellis fired an opening round 72 to place him third after day one.
Other scorers for Villanova included freshman John Kisamineo (Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna). Seeing his first action at the collegiate level, Kisamineo shot a 154. He scored an opening round 75 and followed it up with a 79. His effort placed in tied for 21st overall.
Rounding out the scoring for Villanova were Garrett Feduke (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal), Matt Gugino (Leroy, N.Y./Leroy) and John Keller (Bayside, N.Y./St. Mary's). Feduke finished tied for 28th after firing a 156 (81/75). Gugino shot a 167 (83/84), which placed him tied for 57th. Keller rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats with a 171 (86/85).
Villanova will be in action next at Lehigh University on October 12-14.
