Whitey Rigsby

Whitey Rigsby '78 is in his second year as Director of the Block V Club. Rigsby's primary responsibilities include overseeing all fundraising activities that support the 24 intercollegiate sports at Villanova.

Prior to his arrival to the Block V Club, Rigsby was involved with sales for John F. Scanlan, Inc. for 20 years. In addition, Rigsby will begin his 22nd season as "The Voice of Wildcat Basketball" on the radio. He is also the host of the Jay Wright Radio and Television Shows and co-host of The Wildcat Call-In Show.

Rigsby earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Villanova in 1978 and was a three-year starter for the men's basketball team. During his tenure as a player, Rigsby tallied 393 assists, and as captain led his team to the NCAA Final Eight in 1978. Those efforts earned Rigsby a spot in the Villanova Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 1995.

Rigsby resides in Malvern, PA with his wife Becky '79 and their seven children: Deborah Villanova '04, Rob, Jr. Villanova '07, Frederick Villanova '06, Mary, Butch, Joseph, and John.
