VILLANOVA, Pa. - The weather in the northeast has been hot and humid but for fans of Villanova men's and women's basketball, the thermostat was already turned to high in anticipation of 2002-03. Now Villanova basketball season ticketholders will have the opportunity to get a taste of hoops fever in the dog days of August at the first Wildcat Summer Jam on Aug. 5.

On that afternoon a carnival atmosphere will take hold in front of the Pavilion. From 4-7:00 p.m. coaches and players from both the men's and women's 2002-03 Wildcats will be present to share a summer festival with season ticket holders. There will be food, drink, and games to entertain both young and old alike. A live band will provide summer tunes and team members will be available for autographs.

Both the Villanova women and men are looking ahead to 2002-03 with much enthusiasm. Coach Harry Perretta's women's team returns three starters from a unit that reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Meanwhile, coach Jay Wright welcomes four starters back from a 19-13 squad that reached the National Invitation Tournament quarterfinals.
