No. 19 Villanova Blows By Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Trish Juhline scored 20 points, and Courtney Mix had 16 as No. 19 Villanova beat Pittsburgh 63-47 Tuesday night.

Katie Davis and Kelly Nash added 10 points apiece for Villanova (18-4, 8-3 Big East.)

Pittsburgh (10-11, 2-8) lost its third straight game and its fifth in a row in the new Petersen Events Center. Laine Selwyn led Pittsburgh with 12 points, six rebounds and four assists.

The Panthers went nearly 14 minutes without a basket, from midway through the first half until the 13:57 in the second when Selwyn had a driving layup to make it 40-26.

Pittsburgh led 20-16 at 7:33 in the first half, but Villanova finished the half in front 26-22.

Villanova shot 46 percent (27-of-59) from the field and was 30 percent (6-of-20) on 3-pointers.

Pittsburgh shot 35 percent (17-of-49) from the field and 28 percent (2-of-7) from behind the arc.
