VILLANOVA, PA. - The competition was as heated as the weather on Monday, Aug. 4th, as Wildcat alumni - young and old - got together for the Legends and Pros Alumni Games to celebrate Villanova Basketball Summer Jam 2003.

The Legends Alumni Game kicked off the evening with Tom Sienkiewicz recording 17 points and eight rebounds to lead the White squad to a 47-41 victory over the Blue team. Sienkiewicz shot seven-of-10 from the field and three-of-five from the arc to pace the White team. Larry Herron also scored in double-figures for team White with 10 points respectively. Leading the way for the Blue squad was Whitey Rigsby who posted 18 points (7-of-15 FG), 11 rebounds, six assists and five steals.

The night-cap featured the Villanova Pros Game where the Tim Thomas and Gary Buchanan led Blue team narrowly defeated Alvin Williams and Ricky Wright's White squad by an 83-81 margin. Buchanan was scorching from the three-point stripe, drilling six three-pointers en route to a team-high 18 points. Thomas, currently a star forward for the Milwaukee Bucks, added 15 points and six boards for team Blue coached by former Wildcat mentor Rollie Massimino.

For the White team, Wright scored a game-high 24 points including 18 points in a stellar second half. He shot 10-of-15 from the field and four-of-six from three-point range to help the White squad rally but fall just short in its comeback attempt. Williams, a tremendous all-around guard for the Toronto Raptors, added 16 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for White in the game.
