VILLANOVA, Pa. - Junior forward Jason Fraser (Amityville, N.Y.) underwent arthoscopic surgery today on his left knee at Bryn Mawr Hospital.
"We removed loose pieces of cartilage in Jason's knee," stated Villanova team orthopedic surgeon Dr. Rob Good, who performed the procedure this afternoon. "We are hopeful that this will reduce the irritation in his knee and allow him to return to action."
Fraser remains out of action indefinitely. Physicians will monitor his recovery over the next three weeks and re-evaluate his condition at the end of that period.
"Jason continues to show an incredible attitude through all the adversity he has faced," stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright. "If anyone can make a quick recovery from this, it is Jason."
