VILLANOVA, Pa. - Curtis Sumpter (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored 10 points to lead the Blue squad to a 22-16 victory in Villanova's annual Blue vs. White scrimmage here today. The event is part of Villanova's homecoming weekend festivities.

The Blue team gained control of the game late in the first half as Sumpter and classmates Randy Foye (Newark, N.J.) and Chris Charles (Milwaukee, Wisc.) sparked the offense. At halftime, the Blue held a 15-10 edge.

An Allan Ray (Bronx, N.Y.) triple for the White squad cut the deficit to 20-16 with under three minutes remaining in the second half. But the White came up empty on its next two possessions and the Blue emerged with the win.

Charles ended the day with six points, two rebounds and one blocked shot while Foye added four points and three assists.

Sophomore Baker Dunleavy (Portand, Ore.) contributed three points and four rebounds for the White team.
