Although his shot wasn't falling, junior forward Curtis Sumpter still found a way to make a difference in the 74-64 win over Penn on New Year's Eve. The Brooklyn, N.Y., native contributed 16 points and 13 rebounds, marking the third time this season he has posted a double-double. He has not scored less than 14 points in a game this season and has 12 consecutive games of double-figure scoring dating back to 2003-04.

The leisure suit is back in style - at least for one night. To help celebrate the debut of live college basketball on ESPN Classic, fans are encouraged to dress as though it were 1979, the year ESPN made its debut. Jim Simpson and former Wildcat coach Rollie Massimino will call this Big East opener and the graphics will mimic those used in '79.

Freshman guard Kyle Lowry made his college debut in the win over Penn, scoring five points and grabbing three rebounds in 17 minutes. His first game action came only 13 weeks after he underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee.

The Wildcats travel to Notre Dame to face the Irish at noon on Saturday. The game will be televised locally on WB 17.
