  • The Wildcats set a new team record with 17 made three-pointers in the game. The previous program record was 16 shots from long range. That feat was accomplished twice, most recently against Notre Dame on January 7, 1999.
  • The record for made three-pointers in a game by a Big East team is 18, which was done by West Virginia against Louisville on March 26, 2005 in the NCAA Tournament. Below are some of the top three-point shooting performances by Big East teams.

  • Senior guard Allan Ray set the school's individual record by draining eight three-pointers in tonight's game. He finished with a game-high 26 points and connected on 8-of-16 shots from long range. The previous school record by an individual was seven three-pointers and it was done on three occasions.

  • Allan Ray also broke the school record for three-pointers attempted with his 16 tries. The previous record of 14 was set by Kerry Kittles against La Salle on February 28, 1994.
  • Only three different players combined to make the 17 three-pointers. Allan Ray was 8-of-16 from long range, while senior guard Randy Foye was 5-of-8 and junior guard Mike Nardi was 4-of-6. In addition, freshman forward Dwayne Anderson was 0-for-2 and freshman guard Bilal Benn was 0-for-1 from long range.
  • The Wildcats have made 27 three-pointers in their first two games for an average of 13.5 made three-pointers per game. Villanova is shooting 27-of-58 (.466) from behind the arc so far this season.
  • Villanova's first two opponents are just 5-for-23 (21.7 percent) from long range.
  • Villanova's first two opponents have combined to make just 9-of-26 free throws for a percentage of 34.6 from the free-throw line. The Wildcats have made 29-of-44 free throws and are shooting 65.9 percent from the line.
