Clark Accepts Scholarship Offer

Nov. 3, 2005

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Philadelphia native Shane Clark, who completed his prep school career at Hargrave Military Academy last spring, has accepted a scholarship offer from Villanova and will enroll for the spring semester, it was announced today. His scholarship takes effect on Dec. 21, one day after the end of the fall term at Villanova, and he will be officially added to the roster as a freshman on that date.

The 6-7 Clark is a multi-skilled forward who played alongside current Wildcats Kyle Lowry and Bilal Benn at Philadelphia's Cardinal Dougherty High School before transferring to Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia for the 2004-05 scholastic year. As a junior at Cardinal Dougherty in 2003-04, Clark averaged 15 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots per outing.

"We are thrilled to have Shane Clark join the Villanova Basketball family," stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright. "I have always believed Shane is a Wildcat at heart. He is an all-around basketball player who can contribute in a number of ways on the court. Shane has been well-prepared by his coaches at Cardinal Dougherty, Mark Heimerdinger and Dave Distel, and by his AAU coach, Lonnie Lowry."

Clark will be eligible to participate in games beginning with the Dec. 22 contest against La Salle.
