2004-05 Annual Report
VILLANOVA, Pa.-- As the fall sport teams begin to report for preseason camp and preparations for the 2005-06 season get underway, join the Villanova Athletic Department in taking a look back and reflecting on the many accomplishments that took place during the 2004-05 academic year.
For the past several years, the Villanova Athletic Department has produced its Annual Report. This project outlines the accolades and highlights of the previous year. Some highlights that can be seen in this year's report include the Sweet 16 appearance of the men's basketball program, the 1985 men's basketball championship reunion, the Olympian Gala and the announcement of the new Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation Center. The report also features the outstanding academic achievements of the student-athletes, as well as department news and the prominent role Villanova student-athletes play in the community.
"2004-05 was another outstanding year for Villanova Athletics," Director of Athletics Vince Nicastro said. "Our programs and student-athletes continued to raise the bar competitively while finishing among the nation's elite across the various academic measures that we track. We are all very proud of the accomplishments of our programs, coaches and student-athletes and we will continue our commitment to providing an environment where the potential of our young people can be fully realized."
"All the accomplishments that we enjoy do not occur without the hard work, sacrifice and support of our student-athletes, coaches, staff, alumni and the entire Villanova community. Our collective success is truly a team effort," said Nicastro.
The Annual Report is a perfect opportunity for casual fans, dedicated supporters and proud alumni to keep up with all that is new with Villanova Athletics. Each year, the Annual Report is distributed within the Athletic Department, throughout the campus community and to all Wildcat season ticket holders. It is also mailed to alumni and is utilized for several initiatives undertaken by the V Club.
