New York, N.Y. - The Wildcat men's and women's track teams received strong performances from Akilah Vargas, Zita Mezei, Bobby Curtis, Robert McDade and the men's and women's 4x400m relays on the second day of the Armory Collegiate Invite.
Vargas won her heat and placed second overall in the championship divison of the women's 800m, with a time of 2:09.62.
Mezei placed eighth overall in the championship mile with a lifetime best of 4:52.12.
The 4x400m team of Tiera Fletcher, Arusha McKenzie, Jordan Sarruda, and Yolanda Malcolm finished fourth in their heat of the collegiate divison, with a time of 3:51.07.
On the men's side, Curtis placed second in the championship men's invitational mile, running a personal best of 4:02.32.
The 4x400m team of John Wilsman, Carl Hansen, Elvis Lewis, and Drew Eckman continued their progress with a second place finish in the college division [3:14.08].
McDade rounded out the notable performances of the meet by placing third in the men's championship weight throw with a throw of 18.37m.
