Tests Reveal Nardi Not Suffering From Mononucleosis

Feb. 8, 2006

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Test results received today have determined that junior guard Mike Nardi (Linden, N.J./St. Patrick's H.S.) is suffering from tonsillitis and has not contracted mononucleosis. Physicians report he is responding well to treatment and is listed as day-to-day.

Nardi watched last evening's 71-58 Villanova victory over Saint Joseph's from the Villanova University Health Center, where he received treatment. He began feeling symptoms last weekend and was admitted to the Health Center. The 6-2 guard is the Wildcats third leading scorer (12.2 ppg) and had started all of Villanova's 19 games prior to Tuesday night.

Villanova (18-2 overall, 8-1 Big East) visits DePaul on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
