Head Coach Jay Wright
On the game:
"I thought we played a great second half. The line ups in the first half kinda messed us up but in the second half I thought we really came out and defended well and completed the game. That was good for us to get a good defensive half."
On it being Senior Night:
"You always concerned about how it's going to affect these guys. I know I get emotional, and I'm going to be here, hopefully, for a long time. They're leaving, so I know they have to be emotional. We did our own little team family thing, and that was emotional. I just always worry about how it's going to affect each guy. Each one is different. I wanted to enjoy it. I wanted our fans to enjoy it. I wanted our guys to enjoy it.
On the roller-coaster type of year it's been:
"We had the seniors speak last night and that's what they spoke about. How they came in, ranked preseason no. 17, and we hadn't done anything. And then everyone thought we were grea, and we didn't live up to expectations, so everyone thought we were in the tank. These guys have lived through it all and then earned their way back. They feel like where they are now, they've earned this level of respect. They've earned 13-2 in the BIG EAST and I think they appreciate it even more."
On the importance of getting a no. 1 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament:
"We really don't care about that. We look at one game at a time. I think maybe your question to Allan was maybe about the regular season, and he's not even thinking about...it just shows you...I don't even think he knows what you were talking about, which is beautiful. I love that. He's just thinking about playing against Syracuse, and we gotta play well in that game. I'm really proud of him for that. Because that's what we have to do."
Senior Randy Foye
On Senior Night:
"It was special. Bringing my family from home to meet my family from Villanova...they've met before, but it was really special tonight. I kinda got emotional out there, but I didn't want anyone to see me tearing up. I just wanted to go out there and play a good game."
Senior Allan Ray
On his injured knee:
"My knee was feeling fine today. Our trainer Jeff gave me a brace for my knee and it's really good. It definitely eliminates the pain and helps me with my movement on the court, especially defensively. The knee wasn't really a problem."
On the importance of playing on Senior Night:
"I think it was just important to play, just to be with the guys. Even if I was on the bench, I would still be cheering the guys on out there that were playing. But being out there was special. Just to be out there and get a win, our last win here on this court. That was pretty special.
On Curtis Sumpter's decision to red-shirt the 2005-06 season:
"Curtis made the best decision for him. Whatever he decided we were behind him 100 percent. Him coming out with us on Senior Night was also special because he came in with us. I think that was really important to him just getting to walk out there on Senior Night with the guys he came into school with."
